We have registered at Target, with their “Club Wedd” gift registry.

We went around with the little gun and tagged up some household items … towels, bedding, various silverware, etc.  The gun thing is kinda fun, it is easy to get carried away scanning things. 

We had a couple of laundry baskets scanned, but the stupid thing came up with a weird abbreviation and no picture, so it would’ve been really difficult to identify what it was we were asking for.  We also toyed with the idea of asking for baby clothes and diapers and stuff, to see if anyone fell for that sort of thing.  In the end we were afraid we’d actually end up with baby stuff we don’t need just yet.  We put Guitar Hero for the Wii on there instead, since that is a toy for us older kids to enjoy (Mario Kart Wii wasn’t released yet, I should go back and add it to the registry …)

We would’ve registered at Lowe’s or Home Depot, but we’re renters and don’t want to put too much effort into the yard or upkeep on the house.

It took awhile to decide exactly where we wanted to go on our honeymoon vacation.

We have reserved a room at a hotel called Ana Y Jose, in Tulum. say, we’re very excited about the trip.

We will be staying in the Amanecer oceanfront suite for 5 days, beginning June 30th. A new airline flying out of ABIA will be providing non-stop flights to Cancun, so that’s good news for our trip.

If anyone has ever been to this part of the world, please comment and tell us what you think! We would love some advice about things to see or do while in the Yucatan.

We finally selected a photographer for the wedding.

So far this was the most stressful thing to figure out. I’m sure there will be more stress to come, but we just had the hardest time with this decision. There are so many different styles, and so much to cover … and you only get one shot at it, so to speak. For some reason it really felt like there was a lot riding on picking the right photographer for the job (maybe it is the expense involved).

On Sunday we met one half of the team at Anne Marie Photography at Starbucks, and she walked us through what to expect with them. They have lovely pictures, both “traditional” and unique. More importantly, she was extremely friendly and we all clicked. That aspect seems to be the most important (after the ability to operate a camera in the first place), and we’re both very excited with our decision!

We’re trying to settle something. Chances are this won’t be settled anytime soon, but it would be nice to have it figured out by the actual wedding …

We are trying to decide if there should be seating arrangements at the reception. Angela’s position is that etiquette suggests seating arrangements as part of the total package. Frank believes no one in the history of weddings has ever been happy with where they were told to sit. Both sides surely have valid points …

Something we think we’ll need a lot of for the wedding: waltzes (did I pluralize that correctly?). The 3/4 time signature is by far superior than most others. Anyone who suggests otherwise is a communist. We want to try to get some good country waltz suggestions from everyone, but would love to see more obscure or unique suggestions in the 3/4 time signature. Ween, for example, often relies on this time signature for their eclectic catalogue of music (although Angela would like it known that we will be limiting the total Ween allowed on the final song list).
